Prince Harry makes another bid for taxpayer-funded security… asking for ‘risk assessment’ after losing appeal
PRINCE Harry has reportedly written to the Home Secretary, Shabhana Mahmood, in a bid to have his royal security reinstated.
The Duke of Sussex, 41, has lodged a formal request with the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec).

The committee is overseen by the Home Office – Harry has asked them for a risk assessment process to be carried out.
Harry had previously been in contact with the former Home Secretary Yvette Cooper on the topic.
Under Ravec guidelines a risk assessment should be carried out for each member of the firm and other VIPs every year.
Harry’s bid with Ravec has asked the committee to “abide by its own rules.”
A source close to the matter told The Times: “While he realises this will not be top of the incoming secretary’s in-tray it is something which should have happened a long time ago.
“We have had the can kicked down the road for quite a while now but all he’s asking is for Ravec to abide by its own rules which state that an RMB should be conducted each year.
“The last one for the duke was in 2019.”
The Duke’s request for a risk assessment was confirmed by the Home Office but it is understood that government policy prevents the department from commenting on any individual cases.
Earlier this year Harry lost his appeal to the High Court to have his police protection reinstated.
Currently his security is based on a case-by-case basis, requiring Harry to give a months notice before each visit.
The Duke complained that after he stepped down from his role in the royal family he was denied an assessment from a risk management board.
On previous trips to the UK police forces have been alerted in advance of his arrival.
The Met Police also conducted a security sweep of the Royal Lancaster Hotel where Harry gave a speech for the WellChild awards.
The Home Office, which is held legally responsible for the committee’s decisions, successfully opposed the Duke’s previous appeals to have his security reinstated.
Harry stepped down from royal duties six years ago and has only returned to the UK on a few occasions since.
He emigrated with his family to America and stopped undertaking official royal duties.
The Duke of Sussex has stated that the UK feels unsafe for his children: Archie, six, and Lilibet, four.
The Duke of Sussex also has his own protection staff around him when he attends charity events and other engagements.

Thomas Tuchel desperate for more English players in Premier League as numbers worryingly hit record low
THOMAS TUCHEL is desperate for more English players to feature in the Prem as numbers have hit a record low.
Less than a QUARTER of starters in top-flight matches so far this season were eligible to play for his Three Lions.

The shock 23.2 per cent figure is a huge drop from Gareth Southgate’s reign when it was between 30 and 33 per cent — then an all-time low compared to previous years.
Asked about the record-breaking statistic, England chief Tuchel said: “I am now aware. I would love to see more English players.
“The more, the better, but I come from club football and know that no one is holding anyone back.
“If anyone deserves to play, they will play, so they have to fight for their place and they will. Quality will always find a way.”
Previous boss Southgate had often voiced concerns at having to pick from a decreasing pool of talent — and it is seemingly getting worse.
Ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier in Latvia, Tuchel pointed out he does have major players starring in other countries.
But even if they were featuring in the Prem, the overall figure would still be embarrassingly low.
The German said: “Don’t forget we’ve Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in foreign leagues. We have influential players in France, too.

“We have enough players to compete at a high level.”
Tuchel, whose team beat Wales 3-0 on Thursday, still has some selection issues though as he left Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish out of this current squad.
Standing by that, he added: “I’m still convinced the guys in the last camp deserve to be in this one.
“They put out another great display against Wales — but the door is always open for anyone.
Scammer who lied about finding fly in chocolate to bag refunds caught after chocolatiers turn detective
CHOCOLATE-makers turned detective to nail a scammer who lied about finding an insect in her online orders to claim refunds.
Dozens realised they had been tricked when chocolatier Geri Martin, 46, told an online forum she was nearly fooled.

Geri twigged that the woman had never placed an order with her.
Scores of people replied to say they had been scammed too.
Clare Cook, 43, repaid £37 after the woman, who we are not naming, sent a pic of a fruit fly in a box.
Clare, of Thanet, Kent, said: “I was mortified and checking all hygiene processes.”
Another maker, sent a photo of a bug on a menu card, shut down over cleanliness fears.
Other businesses say the woman smashed chocs then said they arrived broken in a bid for cash.
Chrissie Fadipe, who runs the forum, traced the woman online and phoned her. Action Fraud was also alerted.
Chrissie, 45, of March, Cambs, said: “She admitted scamming people and tried to blame it on being depressed.
“But she didn’t stop to think about the chocolatiers’ mental health. It’s such a malicious thing to do.”
Chrissie says the woman, a single mum from Surrey, started the con after legitimately finding a fly in one box.
She told Chrissie: “I feel terrible. It’s disgusting behaviour.”
She offered to send letters of apology and refunds to those she conned.
