Prince Andrew told Jeffrey Epstein ‘we’ll play some more soon’ in email about Virginia proving that he lied in BBC chat

PRINCE Andrew told paedo pal Jeffrey Epstein “we are in this together” in an email — three months after the date he said he’d severed contact.

The Duke, 65, messaged on February 28, 2011 a day after the infamous photo emerged of him with Virginia Giuffre.

On November 16, 2019, Andrew tells Emily Maitlis during BBC Newsnight interview he’s had no contact with Epstein since December 2010

The bombshell February 28 2011 message, obtained by this newspaper, proves Andrew, 65, lied when he told BBC Newsnight he ceased contact with the financier three months earlier, in December 2010.

It brings new context to his links with Epstein, and piles more pressure on the Royal Family to further ostracise him.

Andrew contacted his financier pal just hours after accuser Virginia Giuffre set out how, aged 17, she was flown to London to party with the Duke in March 2001.

The photo, published for the first time on February 27, 2011, showed Andrew with his arm around Virginia’s waist at the London townhouse of Epstein’s then- girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.

‘In this together’

The extraordinary February 28 email also casts doubt on Andrew’s 2019 Newsnight claim he had “no recollection” of meeting Virginia.

In his message, Andrew assured Epstein: “I’m just as concerned for you! Don’t worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it.”

And Andrew appeared to have no plans to end the friendship, urging Epstein to “keep in close touch”.

Disturbingly, he told the predator: “We’ll play some more soon!!!!”

The message was sent from Andrew’s official email address which had the automated signature “HRH The Duke of York KG”.

The address for Epstein has been previously confirmed as his in official records.

Royal author Ingrid Seward said: “I’m afraid this looks very, very bad for Andrew. It’s a small but hugely damning email.

“By getting caught in this lie, he has put one foot in the mire and slipped and got his whole body in the muck.

“If it was his contention that he had never met Virginia, or indeed that the infamous image was a creation, then surely he would have said something straight away?

“Andrew is often misguidedly loyal to friends. Even so it is astonishing he seems to care more about Epstein’s reputation than his own.

This is the point of no return for Andrew. The lifeless tentacles of Epstein’s reputation are ruinous to many people and I can’t see a way back from this

Royal author Ingrid Seward

“Maybe he thought as a prince of the blood he was above incrimination. Given what we know about Epstein, to say ‘we’re in this together’ has terrible connotations.

“This is the point of no return for Andrew. The lifeless tentacles of Epstein’s reputation are ruinous to many people and I can’t see a way back from this.”

Andrew told Newsnight’s Emily Maitlis he stopped all contact with Epstein after they were pictured in New York’s Central Park in early December 2010.

The Duke insisted his visit to the financier’s home was to inform him that it was no longer “appropriate” for them to remain friends.

He claimed ending the relationship over the phone would have been “the chicken’s way of doing it”.

He told Newsnight: “By mutual agreement, during that walk in the park, we decided that we would part company and I left, I think it was the next day.

“And to this day I never had any contact with him from that day forward.”

But our email proves the pair maintained a close relationship 12 weeks later.

Andrew also insisted to Ms Maitlis that the London encounter with Virginia “never happened”.

He even suggested the Virginia picture could have been forged, saying: “Nobody can prove whether or not that photograph has been doctored but I don’t recollect that photograph ever being taken.”

But Andrew made no mention of his theory in the email to Epstein a day after the image was published.

In 2015 allegations that Andrew had sex with Virginia emerged in court documents related to Epstein.

Andrew has always vehemently denied claims she was trafficked to London for sex with him.

The scandal has seen him lose his royal titles and patronages.

In 2022 he agreed to pay Virginia a reported £12million settlement, while maintaining his denials of her allegations.

He lives at 30-room Royal Lodge, Windsor.

Epstein was found dead in jail in 2019 aged 66.

Maxwell, 63, is serving 20 years’ jail for sex trafficking.

Mother-of-three Virginia died by suicide this April aged 41.

The February 2011 email from Andrew to Epstein was first mentioned in legal filings involving ex-Barclays Bank boss Jes Staley.

It came to light after Mr Staley appealed against a decision by the Financial Conduct Authority.

A short section of the email was quoted in legal documents, and only made reference to “a member of the British Royal Family”.

The email’s veracity and full contents have not been confirmed until now.

It raises questions over the extent of which the Yorks’ fortunes were linked to Epstein.

Andrew stated in his Newsnight interview that he first met Epstein in 1999 through Maxwell.

‘Supreme friend’

The couple were guests at events hosted by the Duke, including a shooting weekend for Maxwell’s birthday and a Sandringham party.

Even after an arrest warrant was issued for Epstein on charges related to the sexual assault of a minor in Florida, Epstein and Maxwell were guests at Andrew’s daughter Beatrice’s 18th birthday party at Windsor Castle in 2006.

In July 2008 Epstein was jailed for 18 months after pleading guilty to procuring underage girls.

He was released before Andrew’s 2010 visit to New York.

Last month we told how Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson called Epstein her “supreme friend” in an email on April 26, 2011.

A month earlier, she had apologised for accepting money from Epstein and denounced him.

Our story saw Fergie dropped by seven charities.

She and Andrew were also disinvited from the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations.

Last week it emerged then-PM Sir Tony Blair hosted Epstein at No10 in 2002 amid lobbying from Lord Mandelson.

In a briefing, Epstein was described as super-rich and “close to the Duke of York”.

Sir Tony’s spokesperson said the pair held a 30-minute meeting and “he never met or engaged with him subsequently”.

Lord Mandelson was fired as the UK’s US ambassador last month over links to Epstein.

Prince Andrew and Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

PRINCE MUST QUIT UK

By Matt Wilkinson

ANDREW’S Jeffrey Epstein scandal will not go away so maybe it’s finally time the arrogant Duke did.

The Palace has let it be known that Andy should at the very least “uninvite himself” for Christmas with the family.

But the notion that he is capable of using his best judgment for the wider benefit of himself and his family is naive and laughable.

The late Queen and now the King have tried everything to punish the Duke but are now left with few levers to pull.

He has a cast-iron lease at Royal Lodge and stripping his Duke of York title is in the power of the Government, not the King.

It is now clear Andrew’s Newsnight interview was not only a car crash but not completely candid either.

He did not cut off contact with Epstein like he claimed, as our email reveals.

King Charles will be shocked by his brother’s sheer brass neck but no longer surprised.

Andrew once claimed visiting Epstein in New York was the “honourable and right thing to do”.

If he has an honourable bone in his own body, he should leave the country.

I kicked Thomas out house over affair… but Strictly abuse turned lives upside down, says TV star’s wife Sinead

STRICTLY star Thomas Skinner’s wife has revealed she was so devastated about her husband’s affair she made him leave home.

Speaking for the first time about their marriage struggles, Sinead says it has made them stronger — but appearing on the dance show turned their lives upside down.

Thomas received “more than 200 death threats” as a backlash grew over his friendship with American Vice-President JD Vance before revelations about his cheating also became public.

Sinead says: “When he first told me what had happened I made him leave. I was devastated.

“I will never forget Thomas telling me. I remember thinking, ‘I never thought this would happen to me’. It was one of the worst days of my life. I only told one friend, nobody else.

“But we eventually worked it out. I just knew how much I love him and I wanted to work it out.

“He made a mistake. It was a tough time. One of his friends had just died.

“It was four years ago. Now we are stronger than ever. We have moved on. He has learned from it and  we have since had our twin daughters. But then, after he signed up for Strictly, it all came out in public. It has been hell.

“The response from Thomas doing Strictly has been a test for us all. It was horrendous. I cried — everybody knowing about this difficult chapter in our lives nearly four years ago was awful. It was in the past for us.”

Sinead, a former PA in an archaeology firm who is now a full-time mum to Henry, four, and two-year-old twins Roma and Darla, filled in the paperwork for The Apprentice — which is how  market trader Thomas originally became a star.

And she encouraged him to do Strictly Come Dancing too.

Thomas said: “I said to her, ‘I don’t think I should do it’.”

Shaking her head, Sinead says: “But I didn’t think the response from him doing it would turn out like this.”

He dubs her “super, sensible Sinead” and as she speaks it is clear she is — and that they are a solid, loving team, constantly laughing and holding hands.

She has been there for him as the abuse has grown from trolls on social media.

Softly spoken Sinead says: “I know the real Thomas. I wish everybody else could see just how amazing he is.

“He is the love of my life, the best dad to the kids. He is usually fun, spontaneous and loving.

“I was OK, but I was so worried for him. He is a big softie at heart, lovable and caring.

“He’s usually upbeat, positive — but it all got too much.”

Speaking from their home in Essex, the couple admit they were “naive” when he signed up for the BBC dance show and unprepared for the scrutiny or abuse.

Thomas, who was paired with dancer Amy Dowden, said: “Strictly is a great show and I loved being on it. But there are parts of me that regret doing it because of what came with it.

“I loved the dancing, I really did. And I made a friend for life in Amy. But if I knew the amount of hurt it would bring to my family, I wouldn’t have done it.

“Financially, it was a good thing to do. The abuse was horrendous. I had about 200 death threats on social media.

“I remember one said, ‘I love Strictly. You’ve ruined my Saturday night. I hope you kill yourself before the live show’. Then it said, ‘I know where you live’. I didn’t deserve that backlash. For what? For being myself?

Thomas has refused to let the hate get him down[/caption]

“I’ve never said anything political. All I’ve ever done is say, ‘I’m proud of where I come from’.

“The abuse was awful. It was really wearing me out.”

Thomas tries to do the opposite on his social media and spreads messages of positivity to his 700,000 followers online.

He says: “I’m just a normal fella with a bit of a platform who tells people to believe in themselves — and I got attacked.

“I was the hero on the Apprentice and then the villain on Strictly. It has been a bad experience. I started to doubt myself for the first time in my life.”

VILE ABUSE

Sinead suggested calling the police, but he refused to worry about the keyboard warriors.

She said: “I looked at some of the comments, which were horrid.
“Then he told me about the one saying they knew where we lived.

“I said, ‘Can we report it, shouldn’t we report it to the police?’ He didn’t want to. He said it would be OK. How can strangers say such things? It got to him.”

Thomas, 34, has seen the suggestion from some online that BBC bosses grew sick of the attention on him too. He became the first contestant to be voted off Strictly.

There have been talks of a “fix” after he and Amy danced to Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal and Armand Van Helden.

Thomas said: “On Strictly, you don’t get to pick your own song or routine most weeks. On our second week we danced to Bonkers — and it was a bonkers song to dance to.

“I wish we had perhaps done something like a waltz, in a suit, an easier beat to follow. Then things may have been different. I just agreed to it. I work on market stalls and drive a van. I just agreed to whatever. Amy said, ‘Let’s just go for it’. And we did. I tried my hardest. I enjoyed it.

“I am gutted for Amy. I feel guilty she got lumbered with me, but we had lots of fun.

“And the trust Amy put in me was incredible. Doing those lifts, where if I’d dropped her she could have ended up paralysed — it felt like she really believed in me and I’m so happy we got to dance together, even for the short time we had.”

Four of the celebrities — actress Amber Davies, actor Lewis Cope, ex-England footballer-turned pundit Karen Carney and Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey — had  dance experience.

Thomas said: “I thought the Strictly judges would look at how much I improved.

COLD CRAIG

“I am not daft, I know I couldn’t dance yet, but I also didn’t know what a salsa was at the start. Then I was out there doing one with Amy live on Saturday night.”

Bookmaker friends of the star say they have taken more than £1million in bets for him, and he believes he could have gone further if it had been an entirely public vote.

He said: “Yes, I 100 per cent would be there. I was getting millions of views on my posts on social media — and many people were sending messages saying they’d voted for me.

“I don’t think Craig Revel Horwood liked me much. I saw him in the corridor and we didn’t say hello to each other. Then he gave me a score of two. All the other judges came up and said, ‘I’m gutted for you’, and gave us a hug. But I never spoke to Craig.”

In just two weeks, the training and lack of Peroni lager and kebabs has seen Thomas shed a stone.

But last night he and Sinead watched Strictly with a curry together. Thomas said: “I am now a fan. The other contestants were all great.

We are in a WhatsApp group. I’ve not been booted off that yet! I would like Vicky Pattison to win. She has been really supportive. I think she’s ace.

“I guess you could see it as a positive that I got paid for just two weeks and everyone else has to do more dancing for their money.”

Thomas has been asked to return for the final — and Sinead plans to buy him dance lessons for Christmas ready for his return.

She said: “I would love for him to show off with Amy. She is so lovely. The kids adore her too.”

Thomas can take solace in the fact clips of him were some of the most viewed on Strictly’s Instagram feed. He has since been offered more TV work and adverts.

But whatever he does, he will have “super, sensible Sinead” there for support.

She said: “It took so much courage for him to get up there and dance. I’m proud of him. I always will be, whatever he chooses to do next.”
