HEARTBROKEN parents of a British schoolgirl who collapsed and died during a cinema trip have paid tribute to their “bubbly, caring and tough” daughter.
Kasey-Lei Greene, 13, from Sutton Coldfield, was watching a film with a friend when she suddenly collapsed inside a Vox Cinema at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.

The teen, who had been living in the UAE with her family for just over a year, had hugged her dad Marc goodbye around 5.30pm before heading out. An hour later, tragedy struck.
As the film played, Kasey slumped in her seat, sparking panic among staff and cinema-goers. Medics battled for two hours to save her, first inside the cinema and then at hospital, but she couldn’t be revived.
She is believed to have suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Her shocked parents Marc and Manda, and brother Kian, were left reeling from the tragedy.
Last Friday, the family returned to the UK to lay Kasey to rest. Pink and black ribbons lined the funeral route from Marc’s mum’s house in Erdington to Erdington Abbey on Sutton Road.
More than 600 mourners filled the church to pay their respects to the popular teen. Friends, classmates and members of the Abu Dhabi community watched the emotional service via livestream.
Marc and Manda described their daughter as “bubbly, caring and tough”, saying their lives had been “shattered” by her sudden death.
The Sutton Coldfield schoolgirl had moved to Abu Dhabi with her family 14 months earlier and had quickly settled into expat life, making friends and thriving at school.
Her sudden death has sent shockwaves through both the Birmingham and Abu Dhabi communities, with tributes pouring in for the much-loved teen.

Christina Aguilera faced an unexpected wardrobe hiccup while honouring the late Etta James in 2012.
As she took the microphone to sing the legendary “At Last,” the blonde singer was seen bending down to discreetly wipe her legs with her jacket sleeve.
The reason soon became apparent: under the bright stage lights, streaks of self-tanner began to drip down her shins during the heartfelt performance.
Undeterred by the mishap, she wrote on Twitter, now X, after the event: “One of the greatest moments of my life…Singing with my idol, the legendary Etta James. You will be forever missed.”

7 days agoNews TvComments Off on ‘I did encourage her to wait as long as possible’ Paris Fury says as she breaks silence on Venezuela’s engagement at 16
PARIS Fury has broken her silence and revealed what she really thinks after her daughter Venezuela got engaged at her sweet 16th birthday party.
The busy mum, who has seven kids with husband Tyson Fury, defended her eldest child’s engagement as she spoke about the happy news for the first time.
InstagramParis Fury has revealed what she really thinks of daughter Venezuela’s engagement at 16[/caption]
instagramNoah Price popped the question at Venezuela’s sweet 16th birthday party[/caption]
“I did encourage her to wait as long as possible, but she was determined,” she admits, speaking to theSunday Mirror’sNotebook magazine.
Shortly after the proposal, proud Paris posted a video on Instagram sharing the lovely moment boxer and an East Midlands belt holder Noah Price popped the question to his childhood sweetheart.
But while her daughter is only 16, Paris Fury reveals she’s delighted for the pair and think they’re the perfect match.
“We’re all really happy for her and Noah—they’re a great match and genuinely excited about this next chapter in her life,” Paris says.
“Yes, she’s young, but as we all know, that’s in line with our traditions and values. I was engaged to Tyson at 17, so we’re not far off in age.”
Marrying young is common practice within the traveller community and Paris herself was only 19 when she tied the knot to 21-year-old Tyson in 2008.
At the time of the proposal Paris admitted she was “still in shock” and went on to say that “when you know, you know.”
Alongside the video she shared at the time, Paris penned: “Congratulations to @venezuelafuryofficial and @7noahprice on getting engaged.
“Both only young but when you know you know! Still in shock but very happy for you both.
“Me and your Dad couldn’t be prouder xxx.”
According to a source, the busy mum is very much looking forward to planning a lavish, no-expense-spared wedding and is “really going for it.”
The source told OK!: “Paris was shocked when the engagement happened, but she’s delighted and is really going for it when it comes to the wedding.
How Venezuela Fury 'could be a millionaire by age 16' with her own modelling career
WITH a heavyweight boxing champ for a dad and a bestselling author mum, it's likely that Venezuela Fury has a bright future ahead of her.
And the 15-year-old is already shaping up to be one of the most popular teenagers on the internet, racking up 70,000 followers on Instagram and more than 200,000 followers on TikTok.
The star has already caught the attention of modelling agencies, who have claimed that her unique style could make her a “millionaire by the time she’s 16.”
Gemma Howorth, Founder of Body London Model Management is convinced that Venezuela’s “gorgeous” looks and “strong social presence”, could make her a lot of money from modelling – before she even turns 16.
“Venezuela is very young but if correctly managed could really do well with a strong fashion-focused brand like Boohoo and then go on to develop an exciting modelling career,” she said.
According to Carol Needham, who runs Needham’s Models, Venezuela could even follow in the footsteps of Katie Price’s daughter, 17-year-old Princess Andre, and sign a deal with PrettyLittleThing.
“Seeing someone like Venezuela Fury is truly unique,” Carol said.
“She’s almost 6ft tall at 15 years old and has her own signature style in modelling, especially with her teapot pose.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if PrettyLittleThing wanted to snap her up!”
Princess signed a four-figure deal with the fast-fashion brand back in January, and some experts predict the move could see her become a millionaire by the time she’s 18.
“They’re throwing everything at it. They don’t do things by halves and family is everything to them.”
And as anyone who has watching the family’s hit Netflix reality show, At Home With The Furys, will be aware, Paris “couldn’t be prouder” of Venezuela and is sure to throw her a party to remember.
“Paris wants to show what a party she can put on,” the insider continued.
“It’s going to be the biggest event and they don’t care what other people say.
“They don’t care if people think it’s overdone, or it’s tacky, or that they’ve spent too much money.
“She wants to have the best and the biggest knees-up with as much glitz and glamour as possible.”

7 days agoNews TvComments Off on All the up to 70% closing down sales to stock up for Xmas NOW as retailers to shut over 150 stores before end of year
MANY high street retailers are shutting shops before the end of the year – and you can stock up for Christmas at a discount.
The chains closing down stores for good include big names such as Poundland, Claire’s and The Original Factory Shop.
Discount retailer Poundland is among the businesses shutting stores in the coming weeksGetty
It comes as the retail sector has struggled recently with lower footfall and increased costs of running stores.
Here are all the closures happening before the end of the year – and the discounts you can get in clearance sales across the country.
Poundland
Poundland have launched closing down sales at nine stores before they shut for good.
The bargain retailer has shut down five other branches in the last week.
But Poundland has dramatically saved three of its stores that were set to close.
These are the Porthcawl, Livingston and Musselburgh branches.
The three stores had begun extensive clearances as they prepared to close under the company’s restructuring and recovery plan.
The Porthcawl store has already re-opened, while the Livingston and Musselburgh shops are set to re-open next week.
Three further Poundland stores are set to have extensive clearance sales as they are gearing for closure.
Stores in Andover, Blackpool and Sidcup will offer reductions of up to 40%, with items marked down in price until they’re sold.
These stores are bringing down the shutters on October 22, October 25 and November 14 respectively.
The sales will cover all the stock in each store, including homeware, clothing, health and beauty.
All the ongoing Poundland clearance sales
IS your local Poundland on the list? We've pulled a list of of the Poundland shops offering huge clearance sales right now and when they'll shut for good:
Rochdale: 22/24 Market Way, Exchange Shopping Centre, Rochdale, OL16 1EB. Closing October 13

Witham: 35 Newland Street, Witham, CM8 2AF. Closing November 12. Sale launches: October 3
The owners of New Look are reportedly in calls with advisers to carry out a strategic review of the fashion chain which could result in a sale.
Scope
Scope has confirmed two of its branches will close in a matter of days.
The charity shop chain is set to shut shops in Gillingham Twydall Green and Stamford Hill on October 18.
These closures bring the total of Scope’s failed shops to 58.
This comes after the Alton branch closed in August, while stores in Bishop’s Stortford, Newmarket, Huntington, Beverley and Fleet were shut in September.
While no closing down sales have been announced, the high street charity chain sells a range of new and second-hand items including clothing, shoes, accessories, CDs and DVDs among others.
Claire’s
High street favourite Claire’s Accessories is set to permanently close 145 stores, despite a rescue deal that pulled the brand out of administration.
Exact closing dates will differ from shop to shop, but shutters are expected to come down within weeks.
And the retailer has kicked off final clearance sales across its closing stores, offering 20% off across items at all affected locations.
You can check if your local Claire’s is shutting down below.
The store currently has a 30% off closing down sale.
The chain’s shop in Fort William, meanwhile, is also running an up to 70% off closing down sale.
You can get your hands on beauty items, accessories and homeware.
And these are not the first TOFS to shut.
The high street chain has previously closed more than 30 stores since the beginning of the year, including four in the last week.
That includes shops in Wetherby, Horley, Spalding and Otley.
Cardzone
And Cardzone has launched a major “everything must go” sale ahead of one of its shops closing for good.
The high street card shop is set to close its store in Houndshill Shopping Centre, Blackpool.
Cardzone has hung a sign advertising a 20% sale off products in efforts to get rid of stocks before shutting its doors.
While the business has yet to confirm an official closing date, shoppers who have spoken to in-store staff claim the shop could close at the end of the year or early next year.
Cardzone’s closure in Blackpool isn’t the only one.
The retailer’s shop on King’s Lynn High Street, Norfolk closed for good in September.
Cardzone shops in Stroud, Gloucestershire, and Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire ceased trading earlier this year.
The Glasgow Fort and Hinckley branches are also reported to shut down, according to local reports.
Cardzone gift ranges include Yankee candles, Thorntons chocolate, Disney and Jelly Cat items to name a few.
RETAIL PAIN IN 2025
The British Retail Consortium has predicted that the Treasury's hike to employer NICs will cost the retail sector £2.3billion.
Research by the British Chambers of Commerce shows that more than half of companies plan to raise prices by early April.
A survey of more than 4,800 firms found that 55% expect prices to increase in the next three months, up from 39% in a similar poll conducted in the latter half of 2024.
Three-quarters of companies cited the cost of employing people as their primary financial pressure.
The Centre for Retail Research (CRR) has also warned that around 17,350 retail sites are expected to shut down this year.
It comes on the back of a tough 2024 when 13,000 shops closed their doors for good, already a 28% increase on the previous year.
Professor Joshua Bamfield, director of the CRR said: “The results for 2024 show that although the outcomes for store closures overall were not as poor as in either 2020 or 2022, they are still disconcerting, with worse set to come in 2025.”
Professor Bamfield has also warned of a bleak outlook for 2025, predicting that as many as 202,000 jobs could be lost in the sector.
“By increasing both the costs of running stores and the costs on each consumer’s household it is highly likely that we will see retail job losses eclipse the height of the pandemic in 2020.”

MORTAL remains of a dad thought to have died 15 years ago have been discovered at his home in Spain.
Authorities were called after a neighbour found the decomposed remains in his run-down property amid Storm Alice.

Astonished locals living in the six-floor apartment block in the east coast city of Valencia say the last time they saw the man- said to be a retired builder – was in 2010.
The dad-of-two had been living alone in the top-floor flat after splitting from his wife and didn’t talk to his two grown-up sons, according to local reports.
The body was removed and taken to Valencia’s Institute of Forensic Medicine around 9pm.
A National Police homicide group has been put in charge of the ongoing investigation ahead of a post-mortem due to start today.
Neighbours were under the impression he had gone to live at a retirement home.
His utility payments and community fees were up to date because they were direct-debited from his bank, which his pension was still being paid into.

The retired defender insisted during the summer that he should be the club’s midfield target over Carlos Baleba.
United were priced out of a move for the Cameroonian international after Brighton and Hove Albion slapped a £115m valuation on him.
Ferdinand, however, sees Wharton as a similar player to United legend Michael Carrick.
He said on his YouTube channel: “We’ve been talking about Baleba, he’s been the hot topic for the last month or so, but before that, Adam Wharton was one of the guys I was saying.
Wharton has been likened to Michael CarrickMark Robinson - The Sun
“He’s the nearest to a Michael Carrick type, who’s a controller, who can play, who plays forward from that deeper line position at times.
“He can be an eight if you need him to be and can run on at times if need be, but he’s more of a conductor and can control things.
“I watched him in a couple of games last season against big teams like Man City and Liverpool, and he looks unfazed.
“He looks ready for a big occasion.
“He enjoys pressure, can play under pressure, and the game kind of slows down when the ball is around him.
“I love him. I think he’s a fantastic footballer.”
Wharton has one England cap to date but was omitted from Thomas Tuchel‘s latest squad.
He revealed that the German coach contacted him over the squad picks but admitted he was not “too fussed”.

GettyThomas Tuchel did not pick him in his most recent squad[/caption]
Wharton said: “He just gave me a message saying I’m playing well, I’m close and I deserve to be there but he’s going to stick with the same team.
“That’s football, I’m not too fussed about that.
“I can take the time off, go see my grandparents, and it’s not the end of the world as there’s another camp next month.
“My focus is on Palace and if that goes well then England is just a bonus.
“Nothing is expected. England have some top players and he’s got a lot of players to choose from.
“No matter who he picks, someone is not going to get in and there will be a fuss about it.
“I can’t sit here and cry about it, this is football and I’m happy playing for Palace and getting minutes.
“I’ll keep knocking on the door and if I’m in, I’m in and if not, I’ll carry on.”
United will likely face competition in the race for Wharton’s signature next summer.
