The rumours seem to have been born from Hollywood gossip sites, which earlier this month published a story about Ariana Grande and Aaron Taylor-Johnson getting lunch together – shocking, I know. People also pointed to celebrity events as evidence, but two Hollywood stars appearing at the same function is hardly proof of a blossoming romance.
The rumours were quickly picked up by clickbait pages on Facebook and Instagram, turning what was a nothing story into a wildly inaccurate storm of speculation.
The rumours certainly weren’t helped by alleged news of Ariana’s impending breakup with Ethan Slater. Apparently, they’re calling off their wedding.
“Ariana and Ethan have been on and off for most of this year,” one source claimed, suggesting they are waiting until after Wicked: For Good to announce the split.
