In 2025, Black Friday takes place on November 28, so make sure to pop that date in your diary!

Previously just a one-day sale, Black Friday has now transformed into a month-long savings event.

Is Apple taking part in Black Friday this year?

While Apple doesn’t usually take part in sales such as Black Friday, plenty of other retailers do.

Shoppers can head to retailers like Amazon, Argos, Currys, and John Lewis to search for the biggest discounts on Apple AirPods.

Although Apple tends to shy away from Black Friday and doesn’t usually offer direct price cuts for its products, the brand does offer gift cards with qualifying purchases during the sales weekend.

When is Cyber Monday 2025 and is Apple taking part?

In 2025, Cyber Monday takes place on December 1.

Typically, you’ll find some of the best online deals on Cyber Monday as retailers wrap up the sale season.

Although Apple doesn’t tend to participate in Cyber Monday sales, other retailers that stock the brand’s products do so make sure to shop around.

If you’re ordering directly from Apple, standard delivery is free for all online orders.

Scheduled delivery options may also be available.

If you’re ordering Apple products elsewhere, delivery costs will vary.

Remember to keep an eye out for any free shipping promotions, and if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you’ll be eligible for free next-day deliveries on millions of items.

Does Apple offer any other discounts?

Yes, additional discounts are available for school and university students, as well as teaching staff.

How much are AirPods?

That depends on the generation you opt for and whether or not you shop during a sale.

Shoppers can expect to pay £119 for Apple AirPods 4, or £169 when they choose AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation.

The AirPods Pro 3 are priced at £219, and the AirPods Max, which provide the ultimate over‑ear listening experience, come with a price tag of £499.

During Black Friday, we often stumble across deep discounts on some of the above devices, so it’s worth waiting to save if you can.

 

What is the difference between AirPods and AirPods Pro?

Shoppers who purchase the AirPods 4 can enjoy up to five hours of listening time on one charge, plus up to 30 hours of listening with the case.

AirPods are also dust, sweat, and water-resistant.

As mentioned above, tech lovers can also purchase the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation.

In contrast, if you purchase Apple’s Pro model, you’ll receive a MagSafe Charging Case (USB‑C).

This charging case works with Apple Watch chargers and Qi‑certified chargers.

If you decide to purchase Apple’s Pro version, you’ll also enjoy a longer battery life and several other handy features.

Do AirPods work with Android?

AirPods work with any Bluetooth-enabled device, including most Android devices, as well as most Windows computers and select smart TVs.

Although AirPods work with Android devices, it is worth keeping in mind that you will lose out on several handy features when you use them on non-Apple platforms, such as Siri, ear detection, and customisable double-tap functions.

How to connect AirPods

To connect to an iPhone, first make sure the smartphone is up to date with the latest iOS release.

Once you have the latest iOS, you can follow these simple steps to set up your AirPods:

1. Hold the AirPods in the open charging case close to the iPhone
2. Once you see an animation on your iPhone display tap ‘Connect”
3. Follow the setup guide on the iPhone screen for AirPods or AirPods Pro
4. You will need to set up “Hey Siri” on your iPhone if you haven’t already done so
5. Once completed, tap ‘done’
6. Your AirPods should automatically be set up with any other supported devices logged into iCloud under your Apple ID

How to reset AirPods

To reset your AirPods you can follow the steps below:

1. Close the lid on your charging case and place your AirPods inside
2. Wait 30 seconds before continuing
3. Open the lid on your charging case
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and hit the “i” symbol next to your AirPods. (If your AirPods aren’t visible in Settings > Bluetooth, skip to the next step)
5. Press Forget This Device and confirm
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case, with the lid open, for around 15 seconds, until the status light flashes amber, then white
7. Reconnect the AirPods by placing them near your smartphone with the lid open
8. Follow the instructions on the screen of your smartphone to complete the re-connection

Are AirPods waterproof?

Some AirPods have an IPX4 rating, which means they are splash-resistant.

While this makes them a good fit for gym workouts and surviving being splashed with water, they are not waterproof.

Submerging AirPods in water is likely to break them.

How to clean AirPods

You should be careful when cleaning AirPods. 

Avoid using liquids or cleaning products that may be abrasive or enter the part of the earbuds.

Apple recommends a “soft, dry, lint-free cloth” for cleaning the outer casing of AirPods.

For the speaker mesh and microphone, Apple recommends “a dry cotton swab”.
