Edwill van der Merwe is the latest Springbok to welcome a bundle of joy this year.
The rugby wing and his wife, Nadine, recently became parents to a baby boy named Luka.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, Edwill revealed that he and his wife had become mom and dad for the first time.
The Springbok posted pictures of him holding his baby boy, Luka. He also shared a sweet snapshot of their first family portrait as a trio.
In others, he gave a glimpse into his son’s nursery.
“New parents on the block”, he captioned the proud post.

Edwill van der Merwe is one of a handful of Springboks whose wives have given birth this year.
Last week, Faf de Klerk also announced the birth of his baby boy, Yuke.
The rugby star and his wife, Miné, posted pics of a little blonde-haired boy, the doppelganger of his dad.

Joining them was their firstborn, daughter Remi-Ré, who was born in February 2024.
The news comes after fellow Springbok Handre Pollard and Eben Etzebeth welcomed their daughters, born days apart, last month.
Handre’s daughter’s name is Isabella Tanya, while Eben’s second daughter’s name is Lia.
