George Gilbert has been removed from the Big Brother UK 2025 house after further breaking rules regarding unacceptable language. This comes after he officially received a formal warning for comments made towards his housemate Sam, who was in tears after homophobic sentiment was levied at him by George.
In a statement released by ITV regarding George being removed from Big Brother, the channel said: “George will appear in tonight’s episode of Big Brother but his comments will not be aired as they are contrary to broadcast standards.’
“George was previously given several warnings for unacceptable language. Most were not broadcast as the language used was contrary to broadcast standards, but one was seen during Monday’s episode of Big Brother. Before entering the Big Brother House, the rules regarding language and behaviour are explained to all Housemates and they receive training in respect, dignity and inclusion. Friday’s eviction will continue as planned – details of which will be explained during tonight’s episode of Big Brother: Late & Live.”
George was up for eviction this week after being nominated by over half of his housemates.
He was a controversial member of the house from the off. George had upset other housemates from the moment he came into Big Brother as a late arrival – way before he was eventually removed this week. He upset Cameron K with comments about eating biscuits early and he rocked the boat with his political views – especially those aired on homeless people earlier this week which led to a confrontation with Jenny.
Sam Ashby, a gay housemate, was upset after George said his least favourite thing about Sam was that he was too camp – and did a limp waisted motion. After apologising to Sam about it and getting a formal warning – he still nominated Sam this week claiming that he did so because he didn’t like treading on egg shells around him.
There’s also been controversy around the fact George didn’t disclose he was a professional actor as well as a parish councillor.
