About the Afrimat Learnership Programme
Afrimat KZN Central (Pty) Ltd is offering exciting learnership opportunities for unemployed youth who are eager to kick-start a career in the engineering and technical trades. The programme provides practical, hands-on training and theoretical learning across various disciplines within the mining and construction sectors.
Learnerships are available in the following trades:
- Diesel Mechanic
- Electrical
- Fitter
- Boilermaker
This structured programme aims to develop competent artisans through formal training, workplace exposure, and mentorship by skilled professionals.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for the learnership, applicants must:
- Be unemployed
- Submit an updated CV
- Provide a certified copy of ID
- Provide a certified copy of Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Provide proof of residence
- Be willing to undergo qualification, employment, and criminal record checks
- Be prepared to undergo a medical fitness test if shortlisted
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a learnership participant, you will gain exposure to the following areas:
- Assisting with inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines and mechanical systems
- Learning to diagnose faults using diagnostic tools
- Assisting in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and wiring
- Learning to assemble, fit, and repair machinery and mechanical components
- Maintaining pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and valves
- Assisting in fabricating and assembling structural metal components
