South African actress Masasa Mbangeni has earned a BA Honours from Wits Business School, making her a two-time Wits graduate.
“This is a dream come true for me,” she said, adding that she plans to return to complete her Master’s and PhD,” she says about her achievement.
Her friends surprised her by flying in to celebrate the milestone with her.
“The reason for everything. My family. They came out in their numbers today. All of my people show up every time,” she added, paying tribute to her loved ones.
Masasa Mbangeni is a South African actress and award-winning performer best known for her role as Thembeka Shezi on the popular TV soapie Scandal! Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, now Gqeberha, she studied dramatic arts at the University of the Witwatersrand.
Mbangeni has worked extensively across television, film and theatre. Her small-screen credits include The River, Housekeepers, The Republic and the crime thriller Devil’s Peak. Her film work includes roles in Machine Gun Preacher and I Am All Girls.
She has received several accolades for her performances, including Best Actress at the South African Film and Television Awards and the Royalty Soapie Awards, along with multiple additional nominations throughout her career.
