Role Overview
As an Apprentice Engine Workshop Technician, you will:
- Support daily workshop operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the workshop.
- Learn and apply repair techniques based on Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Assist with documentation and record-keeping.
- Develop technical skills aligned with business requirements.
- Care for tools and equipment.
- Comply with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
- Report any incidents or issues proactively to supervisors.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education
Applicants must have one of the following qualifications:
Option 1:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric, Grade 12), plus:
- N3 Engineering Studies (with Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing, Diesel Trade Theory/Motor Trade Theory/Mechanotechnology)
- N4 Engineering Studies (with Mathematics, Engineering Science, Mechanical Draughting, Mechanotechnics)
- N6 Mechanical Engineering (with subjects such as Mathematics, Power Machines, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Drawing and Design, Supervisory Management, Strength of Materials, Physics)
Option 2:
- National Senior Certificate (Matric, Grade 12) with NCV Level 4 (TVET) in:
- Engineering Process
- Professional Engineering Practice
- Applied Engineering Technology
- Automotive Repair & Maintenance
- Mathematics
- English First Language
- Life Skills and Computer Literacy
Option 3:
- NCV Level 4 (TVET) qualification with the above-mentioned subjects.
Other Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Strong mechanical knowledge.
- Proficiency in product repair and maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and repair engines and power systems safely and effectively.
