A joint funeral for three more learners who died following the tragic Vanderbijlpark crash will be held in Sebokeng, in the Vaal, on Sunday.
The joint funeral, to be attended by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi at the Saul Tsotetsi Hall in Sebokeng, will be for Grade 12 and Grade 8 learners from Hoërskool Vanderbijlpark, Thato Moetjie and Bokamoso Mokhobo, along with Ofentse Jayden Vinger, a Grade 1 learner who attended Oliver Lodge Primary School.
The horrific crash, which occurred last week, left several families grieving after claiming the lives of 14 learners and leaving a few others in hospital receiving medical attention.
It is one of the biggest crashes since 2026 began and has once again highlighted the dangers of some scholar transport across the country, as many operators do not abide by the law and are not permitted to ferry learners to school.
