A SCHOOL has issued a warning to parents after a child was approached by a strange woman who asked questions and made the youth feel “unsure.”
St Joseph’s RC Primary School issued the warning on June 23 after they were made aware that a child who walks to school alone was approached by a strange woman.
The child is said to have “felt unsure” after the approach which saw a strange woman begin to ask questions about their name and what school they attended.
Terrified, the child reported it to the school immediately with staff issuing a warning to parents.
The warning read: “The woman did not attempt to approach the school or cause harm, but understandably, the pupil felt uncomfortable.
“We’re sharing this so you can have a gentle reminder chat with your children about being safe when travelling to and from school – especially if they walk alone.
“Please remind them to stay aware, walk with others where possible and always report anything that doesn’t feel right to a trusted adult straight away.”
