Dortley suffers setback, Kaizer Chiefs return delayed
23-year-old defender Rushwin Dortley had a setback in his recovery process after sustaining an injury, which ruled him out of the back-end of the 2024-2025 season. It also ruled him out of AFCON for Bafana Bafana. Before their win over Golden Arrows, the Chiefs social accounts posted content showing the squad working in the gym. Dortley was conspicuous by his absence. The talented left-footer is still sidelined and making his way back to full training.
According to SoccerLaduma, the 23-year-old is in the final stages of his rehabilitation and could rejoin the team for full training around mid-February. That bodes well for Chiefs and their quest to mount a credible title challenge towards the back-end of the Betway Premiership campaign.

Chiefs clocked up an important win 1-0 against Golden Arrows after the long AFCON break. The result puts them third on the Betway Premiership, two points behind leaders Sundowns and a solitary point behind Pirates, although the Sea Robbers have two games in hand.
