Two deceased male bodies were discovered near the Lily Mine in Low’s Creek on Tuesday, 20 January 2025.

The bodies were found after police received information about two men who were suspected to be dead. Upon arrival, police found the two men covered with blankets, and they were both certified dead at the crime scene.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Jabu Ndubane said one of the deceased has since been identified by a relative, who confirmed that the deceased is his brother and is originally from Eswatini.

“Police are still attempting to locate the family of the second deceased male,” said Ndubane.

The discovery has left the community shocked, with police investigations currently underway. Members of the public who may have information regarding this tragic matter have been urged to contact their nearest police station.

Police have also launched a manhunt for suspects who are allegedly behind the murder of the two men.
