Flights to and from Hoedspruit in Limpopo have been suspended after severe flooding left key roads impassable and restricted access to the local airport, which serves nearby communities, private lodges and the Kruger National Park.
Airlink confirmed on 14 January 2026 that all operations to Hoedspruit have been halted due to ongoing flood conditions affecting the area.
The suspension impacts several daily Airlink services connecting Hoedspruit with Cape Town and Johannesburg, including multiple morning and afternoon departures and arrivals.

Airlink said flights will resume as soon as authorities declare it safe for the airport to reopen.
The airline is working closely with local stakeholders, including SANParks and private lodges at Kruger National Park, to assist passengers who are currently stranded in the region.
Customers booked to travel to or from Hoedspruit for the rest of the week are being contacted directly.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this is causing our customers,” said Airlink CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht. “Our teams are working with SANParks and other service providers to minimise disruption and expedite the safe resumption of flights.”
