Park management has urged guests to follow recommended access routes closely to avoid closed roads and gates, noting that attempts to use inaccessible routes have led to significant frustration and delays.

According to the latest update, guests are advised to use the following gates to access specific rest camps:

  • Skukuza Rest Camp: Access recommended via Paul Kruger Gate
  • Phabeni Gate: Currently open but may close at short notice due to rising river levels
  • Malalane Satellite Camp and Berg-en-Dal Rest Camp: Access via Malalane Gate
  • Crocodile Bridge and Lower Sabie Rest Camps: Access via Crocodile Bridge Gate, with river levels under continuous monitoring
  • Orpen and Satara Rest Camps: Access via Orpen Gate
  • Olifants, Letaba and Mopani Rest Camps: Access via Phalaborwa Gate or Orpen Gate

Gates and Routes Closed

  • Pafuri Gate and Punda Maria Gate remain closed and inaccessible
  • There is no access to the northern region of the park, and this situation remains unchanged
  • Travel between Skukuza and Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge, Tshokwane and Satara is not possible due to flooding at the Sabie Low Water Bridge and surrounding detours
  • The H10 road between Lower Sabie and Tshokwane is closed
  • Pretoriuskop Rest Camp can only be accessed via Numbi Gate or Phabeni Gate

Kruger National Park authorities have stressed that conditions may change rapidly depending on rainfall and river levels.

Guests are encouraged to stay informed through official SANParks communication channels and to plan travel carefully.

Further updates will be issued as the situation evolves.
