Alvern Cables invites South African unemployed youth to apply for Apprenticeship Programme 2026

Apprenticeship Duration: 4 Years (Leads to Trade Test Qualification)

Alvern Cables is urgently recruiting unemployed youth to participate in a 4-year Apprenticeship Programme that culminates in a recognised trade test qualification. This opportunity is ideal for young South Africans who are serious about building a long-term technical career in either Electrical or Mechanical Fitting trades.

Successful candidates will receive structured workplace training combined with theoretical learning, ultimately qualifying as artisans after completion of the programme.


Apprenticeship Opportunities Available

Alvern Cables is recruiting a total of six (6) apprentices in the following trades:

  • Fitter Apprenticeship – 3 Positions
  • Electrical Apprenticeship – 3 Positions

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet ALL of the following essential requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Standard 10) with Mathematics and Science
  • N2 Certificate or Trade-related NQF Level 2–4 qualification leading to:
    • Electrical Trade OR
    • Mechanical Fitter Trade
  • South African citizen
  • Unemployed
  • No criminal record
  • Traceable references
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication
  • Willing and committed to complete a 4-year apprenticeship
