US actor Will Smith has generously replaced the stolen goods of YouTuber Salah Brooks, who was robbed in Cape Town last month.
The content creator’s skydiving equipment, worth almost R200 000, was taken out of her car boot.

In a social media post, Salah Brooks revealed that actor Will Smith had paid for her stolen goods to be replaced.
She said in a video clip: “I got robbed in Cape Town. And it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Will Smith saw the video of me talking about it and replaced my skydiving gear
“Thousands of dollars of gear, brand new, custom…Thanks, Willy. Everything happens for a reason. I can’t believe it’s true.”
She added, “I know that while I’m not invincible, I am protected by the universe. This place is so magical, Cape Town is one of my favourite places in the world.”

Salah Brooks – who has over six million views on TikTok – detailed how she became a victim of crime in Cape Town in December.
The blonde-haired woman’s $10 000 (R180 000) skydiving equipment, her bag with bank cards and other personal items, were stolen out of her car boot. The incident took place while Brooks stopped at a local coffee shop.
“Don’t leave your car unlocked”, she warned her followers.

CAPE TOWN VOTED ‘MOST AFFORABLE’ LUXURY DESTINATION
Meanwhile, Cape Town has been voted 2026’s “most affordable” luxury destination in the world, according to a report published by Travel & Leisure magazine.
The city, a popular tourist destination, boasts sprawling mountains, stunning sea views, and five-star hospitality.
The magazine shared: “There, opulent 5-star hotels start at just $199 (R3 300) per night, and hour-long spa sessions can be booked for just $50 (R800).
“Going out to eat also won’t cost an arm and a leg. The study found a three-course meal in the city will only set travelers back $23 (R380), a beer typically costs $3 (R50), and a coffee comes in at $2 (R33)”.
