Manhunt launched after four family members shot dead in KZN

Police have launched a manhunt for four suspects after four family members were shot and killed in Port Shepstone in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday night.

It is alleged that unknown men broke into a house near Mdweshule and demanded money from the victims.

According to the police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza,  the suspects were carrying firearms and a bush knife when they forced their way into the rondavel occupied by a woman and her fiancé.

“The suspects demanded money and when they were told that there was no money, they began firing shots at her 45-year-old fiancé, which unfortunately left him deceased.” said Magwaza.

SHOOTING INCIDENT IN THE MAIN HOUSE

He added that the suspects instructed the victim to show them other family members.

“When the suspects got to the main house, they shot dead a mother and two daughters who were aged between 31 and 67-years-old. The suspects then fled the scene, taking with them two cellphones,” he said.

No arrests have been made at this stage and investigations are still ongoing.
