DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT CONDEMNS USE OF ALCOHOL BY CHILDREN AFTER VIRAL VIDEO ONLINE
The Department of Social Development (DSD) has condemned the use of alcohol by children after a viral video of children consuming alcohol in the presence of adults circulated online.
The department is currently investigating the matter and is calling upon those who might have information to come forward.
Minister of Social Development Nokuzola Sisisi urged the South African youth to enjoy the festive season by engaging in sports activities and avoiding the use of alcohol and drugs.
“To the youth of South Africa, choose fun, games, sport and quality family time during this festive period and not alcohol or drugs. You are precious and your future matters. Staying sober helps you enjoy the festive season safely,” said Sisisi.
