Chef’s R40k Woolworths Christmas menu has SA shocked

A private chef has shared his cost breakdown of preparing a Christmas lunch for guests, using some of Woolworth’s most priciest items, including a viral R10 000 leg of Prosciutto.

CHEF SHARES ‘NO BUDGET’ WOOLWORTHS CHRISTMAS LUNCH

On his social media accounts, private chef Neill Anthony revealed how he would prepare a Christmas meal for 10 guests.

The “no budget” meal includes some of the priciest items from the popular retailer.

They include:

  • Cured dry prosciutto leg of ham – R9 999
  • Dry-aged Norwegian salmon – R3499
  • Guisti Balsamic Vinegar – R2999
  • Lobster thermidor – R1999
  • Smoked gammon – R927,97
  • Boska Curler and Klein River Truckle- R1899
  • Dolce & Gabbana Pistacchio Pannatone – R1399

The total of the Christmas meal came to a whopping R38 967,27, or around R4000 per person.

In the comments section, South Africans were shocked at the exorbitant price tag.
