The National Department of Tourism invites unemployed South African graduates and postgraduates to apply for the Internship Programme 2026/2028.
These 24-month internships are based in Pretoria and are ideal for graduates who have completed a relevant tertiary qualification and have never previously participated in any internship programme.

About the Department of Tourism Internship Programme 2026/2028
The Department of Tourism’s Internship Programme provides structured workplace exposure to help graduates:
- Gain practical experience in their field
- Build professional skills and confidence
- Improve their chances of long-term employment in the public and tourism sectors
Successful candidates will sign a 24-month internship contract and will be placed in various divisions aligned to their studies.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be unemployed South African graduates or postgraduates
- Have a relevant tertiary qualification (degree/diploma) in one of the listed fields
- NOT have been employed under any internship programme previously
- Be willing to work full-time in Pretoria for the full 24-month duration
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and subjected to interviews. If you do not hear from the department within 3 months after the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful.

📄 Step 1: Complete the New Z83 Form
- Download or collect the new Z83 form from any Public Service Department or from www.gov.za.
- Clearly indicate the field and reference number you are applying for (e.g. Tourism Management – Ref No: DT-INTERN (0022)).
📑 Step 2: Prepare Your CV and Documents
Your application must include:
- Completed and signed Z83 form (new version)
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Attach your academic modules to your CV
