Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced a renewed partnership with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), officially confirming the national broadcaster as the Free-to-Air home of cricket for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 season.
The announcement comes just in time for the highly anticipated Women’s T20 International Series between South Africa and Ireland.
Black Day ODI
This season will see Proteas Women white-ball home tours against Ireland from 5-19 December 2025 and Pakistan from 10 February-1 March 2026, each featuring three T20Is and three ODIs including the iconic Black Day ODI on 1 March 2026.
The Proteas Men will also be in action as they take on West Indies in a three-match T20I series from 27-31 January 2026, with the final match constituting Pink Day before Aiden Markram’s team departs for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
In a historic first, the Proteas Women matches will be broadcast live on SABC 2 and 3, having previously been available only on SABC+.
This means more South Africans than ever before can share in the pride of one of the nation’s most inspiring sporting teams.
Live coverage will run across SABC’s linear TV, radio and digital platforms, including www.sabcsport.com and SABC+, ensuring supporters can follow the action wherever they are.
This partnership is firmly aligned with CSA’s strategic pillars of access, inclusion, and excellence.
It not only brings the game directly to the people but also elevates the profile of women’s cricket while showcasing the world-class standard of our national team.
‘Experience the thrill’
CSA Chief Executive Officer, Pholetsi Moseki, said: “Inclusion is central to our vision for South African cricket, and this partnership ensures that every fan regardless of background or circumstance, can experience the thrill of our Proteas Men and Women live and for free.
“We are excited to continue strengthening our relationship with the SABC and look forward to welcoming millions of fans as they tune in to celebrate our teams and the excellence they bring to the global stage.”
Keletso Totlhanyo, Head of SABC Sport, said: “Sport has the power to unite and uplift our nation, and making cricket accessible to every South African lies at the heart of our mandate as a public broadcaster.
“Our renewed partnership with CSA ensures that fans across the country whether in urban centres or rural communities can enjoy world-class cricket on free-to-air platforms.
“We remain committed to elevating the women’s game and showcasing the incredible talent of our national teams. We look forward to delivering an unforgettable season of cricket to millions of viewers.”
