The SAFRIPOL Community is inviting eligible South African students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2026 academic year. This bursary aims to support talented young people living in specific KwaZulu-Natal communities to pursue Engineering qualifications at accredited tertiary institutions.

Fields Covered by the SAFRIPOL Community Bursary
Bursaries will be awarded for studies in the following Engineering fields:
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
Applicants must reside in one of the following KwaZulu-Natal areas:
- Wentworth
- Jacobs
- Bluff
More About the SAFRIPOL Community Bursary
Students who meet the minimum eligibility requirements will be evaluated based on:
- Their Admission Point Score (APS)
- Current academic performance
- Chosen field of study
Successful applicants will receive final confirmation of funding once they have received official acceptance into a recognised tertiary institution for the 2026 academic year.
Bursary awards are made entirely at the discretion of the SAFRIPOL Bursary Committee.
Eligibility Requirements for the SAFRIPOL Bursary
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Live in Wentworth, Jacobs, or Bluff in KwaZulu-Natal
- Have completed Matric OR be currently in Matric
- Plan to study or currently be studying in one of the approved Engineering fields
- Be enrolled or provisionally accepted at a recognised higher education institution in South Africa
Failure to meet all the requirements will result in disqualification.
Required Supporting Documents
Submit certified copies (not older than 3 months) of the following:
- ID document
- Grade 11 report & latest Matric results (if still in Matric)
- Matric Certificate (if completed)
- Academic transcript (if already studying)
- Updated fee statement (if applicable)
- Proof of enrolment or provisional acceptance
- Parents/guardians proof of income (payslips/affidavit/SASSA/pension proof)
- High School testimonial (if in Matric)
- Motivation letter (if currently studying)
- Proof of residence
- Affidavit confirming dependency on parent/guardian
