Mpumalanga will experience warm midday conditions and increasing cloud cover this afternoon as a slight chance of isolated showers develops over the eastern parts of the province. The South African Weather Service expects today’s conditions to be far calmer than earlier in the week.
Forecaster Phemelo Zonke says temperatures will rise steadily through the day.
“We are expecting cool to warm conditions across Mpumalanga, with the interior becoming warmer compared to the eastern escarpment,” she said.
Towns such as eMalahleni and Mbombela will see warm highs, while areas near the escarpment remain cooler.
Isolated showers possible in the afternoon in Mpumalanga
Some moisture remains in the atmosphere, creating the possibility of light showers later today. Zonke noted, “There is a chance of isolated afternoon showers, mainly over the eastern parts of Mpumalanga.”
These showers are expected to be brief and non-severe, with no significant weather alerts issued for today.
Comfortable evening conditions expected
As cloud cover increases late in the afternoon, temperatures will cool into the evening. Conditions are expected to remain stable overnight with light winds.
Tomorrow may follow a similar pattern, with warm daytime temperatures and slight chances of isolated showers.
