Walmart is pushing ahead with its South African expansion, confirming that its second local store will open at Fourways Mall in Johannesburg on Friday, 28 November 2025.
Doors will open at 08:00 on Black Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Second Walmart store opens tomorrow
The Fourways launch comes just days after Walmart opened its first South African store at Clearwater Mall, a debut the company has already labelled a major success, Mybroadband reports.
Several crowd-favourite products from the Clearwater rollout will also be available at Fourways from opening day, including imported beverages like Fanta Strawberry, Dr Pepper, and Fanta Peach, popular US snacks such as Pop-Tarts, Swedish Fish, Sour Patch Kids, and Nerds, as well as a Walmart-exclusive collection of Fuggier plush toys
The expansion marks a significant milestone for Massmart and Walmart as they reintroduce the brand to the South African retail landscape, offering a mix of American imports and local favourites aimed at drawing both curious shoppers and long-time Walmart fans.
