Stogie T has unveiled his first album in nearly five years, ‘Anomy’, via a striking visual rather than a traditional rollout.

Stogie T (formerly Tumi Molekane) is celebrated as one of South Africa’s premier lyricists, known for his complex wordplay and intellectual style. A veteran of the scene, both as a solo artist and the leader of Tumi and the Volume, his work consistently offers sharp commentary on society and philosophy.

The hip-hop artist described the cover as a fragmented, ancient-style mural—”a face and humanity in pieces”—signalling a project of profound depth and reflection on social fracture.

The album title, ‘Anomy’, is derived from the concept of anomie, meaning “moral drift” or a “collapse of shared values.”

Stogie T positioned the work as a “reconstruction,” an attempt to find genuine truth as the structures of “identity, faith, culture and ego” fall away.

He noted the music involves the “old me fighting the new me,”. He is yet to reveal the official release date.
