About the Companies Tribunal Internship Programme
The Companies Tribunal (CT) is an agency of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), responsible for resolving company-related disputes and promoting fair administrative processes.
Through this 24-month internship programme, CT aims to equip young graduates with hands-on administrative, operational and organisational skills, while promoting diversity and representivity in the public service.
Successful candidates will work under supervision and gain experience in:
- Case administration
- Records and registry management
- Office coordination
- Finance and payroll processing
- Hearing logistics
- Project support
- Communication handling
Applicants must not have participated in any internship before and must be currently unemployed.
Available Internship Positions for 2025/2026
1. Registry Internship (Ref: 09/2025)
Stipend: R88 232,29 – R93 647,93 per annum
Duration: 24 Months
Centre: Pretoria, Gauteng
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma / Degree in:
- Public Administration
- Public Management
- Law
- Paralegal Studies
- Must be 18–35 years old
- No previous internship experience
- Must be unemployed
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, the intern will assist with:
- Administration of case-related activities
- Support for hearing logistics
- Administration of member claims
- General administrative support to the Registrar
- Issuing directives, reminders and case updates to members
- Supporting records practitioners with filing and records management
2. Finance Internship (Ref: 10/2025)
Stipend: R88 232,29 – R93 647,93 per annum
Duration: 24 Months
Centre: Pretoria, Gauteng
Minimum Requirements
- Three-year Degree in Accounting OR BCom Accounting
- No previous internship experience
- Must be unemployed
- Computer skills (MS Office, Excel)
- Basic accounting knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, the intern will:
- Record, verify and process invoices
- Maintain the invoice register
- Assist with payroll input and reconciliations
- Disseminate payslips
- Reconcile accounts receivable and payable
- Follow up on outstanding payments
- Verify invoices, expenses, receipts
- Process monthly journals:
- Assets
- Accruals
- Prepayments
- Payroll
- Reclassification
- Participate in inventory and asset count
3. Administrative Support Internship (Ref: 08/2025)
Stipend: R88 232,29 – R93 647,93 per annum
Duration: 24 Months
Centre: Pretoria, Gauteng
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Public Administration, Office Administration, or a related field
- Must be 18–35 years old
- No previous internship experience
- Must be unemployed
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel)
- Good communication, organisational and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work under pressure
Key Responsibilities
Interns will assist with:
- Calendar and diary management
- Handling calls, emails and correspondence
- Preparing documents, reports and presentations
- Setting up meetings, taking minutes and tracking action items
- Maintaining confidential files and office records
- Supporting research and special projects
- Acting as a liaison for executives
- Assisting with process and administrative improvements
- Supporting project management activities
