Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender Neil Winstanley has landed a top job at a prestigious private school in Cape Town.
Winstanley made a name for himself at Wits University back in the nineties. The towering defender then sealed a move to the mighty Amakhosi in 1999.
He made just a handful of appearances for Chiefs before moving back to Wits University. In 2004, the 49-year-old sealed another blockbuster move, this time to Mamelodi Sundowns.
He spent three-seasons at Sundowns before closing his career out at Wits.
Former Chiefs and Sundowns man hired by top Cape Town school
According to the latest reports, Winstanley has been hired by a top Capetonian private school.
The former Chiefs and Downs defender has joined Reddam House Durbanville as their new Sport Coordinator.
“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Winstanley as Sport Coordinator at Reddam House Durbanville, effective from the start of the 2026 academic year,” – an official school statement read as quoted by KickOff.
“Neil will take a leading role in driving our Football Programme, with a clear focus on developing our players. He’ll work on strengthening our teams and also enhancing the overall structure and standard of football across the school.”
Winstanley to unearth next gen football stars
The former Kaizer Chiefs, Sundowns and Wits star will pay particular attention to the next generation of football talent at Reddam House.
The defender who was part of the 2004 Bafana Bafana Afcon team will undoubtedly be looking to produce a few more future Bafana stars.
