This trainee opportunity is ideal for early-career graduates looking to gain critical exposure to funding assessments, deal screening, due diligence processes, and development finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee – Junior Business Analyst, you will:
- Assist Dealmakers and Senior Dealmakers with screening and assessing funding enquiries.
- Conduct basic assessments of funding applications and prepare them for presentation to relevant forums.
- Support with preparing client files, templates, and due diligence documentation.
- Maintain and update SAP data, including enquiries, applications, and due diligence stages.
- Coordinate meetings, scheduling, follow-ups, and general office administration.
- Maintain accurate records of client engagements and assessment outcomes.
- Provide operational and administrative support to the Gauteng regional team.
- Assist Administrators with pipeline management, tracking statuses, notes, and due diligence progress.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Qualification in a relevant discipline.
Experience
- 2–5 years’ experience in the relevant field of discipline.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills.
- Understanding of development finance imperatives (advantage).
- Appreciation of the IDC’s role in economic development.
- Strong client engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively with teams and investment forums.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Highly organised, persistent, and results-driven.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exemplary self-leadership and professionalism.
