  • The Ndimande brothers will remain in custody over the festive season after their murder case was postponed to 2026.
  • They face charges for the killings of rapper AKA, his friend Tibz, and an Amanzimtoti taxi boss, and are considered flight risks due to fleeing to Eswatini.
  • Victims’ families, including AKA’s mother, were present in court as the emotionally charged case continued.

The two Ndimande brothers are set to spend the festive season behind bars following the postponement of their murder case at the Durban Magistrates’ Court.

Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande appeared before the court on Tuesday.

They are facing multiple charges, including the brutal murder of South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

They also stand accused of the murder of a taxi boss from Amanzimtoti.

AKA and Tibz were fatally shot outside the now-closed Wish restaurant on Florida Road, Durban, in 2023.

During the proceedings, the State’s Advocate Gcaba told the court that the Ndimande brothers are considered a flight risk, citing that they fled to Eswatini after the murders and resisted extradition for months.

Eswatini authorities handed the brothers over to South African law enforcement earlier this month.

Families of the victims, including AKA’s mother, Lynn Forbes, attended the proceedings, underscoring the deep and ongoing emotional strain surrounding the case.
