About the Programme

The Transnet Young Professional-in-Training (YPiT) Programme provides structured workplace exposure to help graduates gain hands-on experience in the Supply Chain Management Compliance division. The programme prepares young professionals for future roles within Transnet by combining mentorship, practical learning, and cross-functional training.

Position Purpose

To provide the successful candidate with comprehensive workplace experience and support through a structured learning programme within Transnet’s Supply Chain Management (SCM) environment.


Key Responsibilities

As a Young Professional-in-Training, your duties will include:

  • Delivering assigned tasks within the department
  • Shadowing senior staff and participating in learning activities
  • Attending meetings, workshops, and training sessions
  • Providing administrative and research support
  • Serving as a central point for supplier and end-user queries
  • Communicating with internal customers regarding requirements and progress
  • Working collaboratively with mentors and specialists
  • Producing clear reports and project deliverables via MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Supporting project tasks professionally and efficiently

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications (required)

A Diploma or Degree in:

  • Auditing
  • Finance
  • Law
  • Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Experience

  • 0–1 year experience in auditing, finance, internal controls, SCM, compliance, or legal environments
  • Exposure to PFMA or public-sector regulatory frameworks is an added advantage
