Sacha trolls critics after ‘windgat’ label

Springbok Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has sent a message to his critics after being labelled “arrogant”, “windgat” and “out of control” in recent months.

Over the weekend, the famous flyhalf helped South Africa win 24-13 against Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The 23-year-old’s name trended on social media after another phenomenal try, a scuffle with an Irish player, and a tackle which some claim warranted a yellow card.

SACHA SENDS MESSAGE TO CRITICS

A day after South Africa beat Ireland, Sach Feinberg-Mngomezulu sent a clear message to his critics.

The flyhalf posted pics from the game, including all the moments he trended on social media.

The star player set the post to a tongue-in-cheek soundtrack – Rihanna’s Rude Boy – a move that was not lost on his followers and fans.

In the comments section, fellow Springboks also sent a warning to Sacha’s critics.

Kwagga Smith commented: “Hulle ken jou nie [They don’t know you]. RG Snyman added: “Pasop vir him [Beware of him]”

Sacha’s cheeky posts come after a handful of rugby commentators have labelled him as “arrogant” and “windgat”.

RACE MOTIVATED?

Meanwhile, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s father, Nick Feinberg, has claimed that criticism of his mixed-race son – particularly being labelled “windgat” – stems from deep-rooted racism amongst rugby fans.

Speaking on the podcast Learner Husband this week, the sports broadcaster said: “There have been some negative comments from some middle-aged white guys who used to love the 80s, saying Sasha is ‘windgat’. He is the most humble guy you will ever meet.

“At training, he is carrying the water and picking the balls up. He is always going to talk to fans. He is confident on the field, and that’s always mistaken as being arrogant”.

Nick claimed that the criticism was rooted in racism.

He continued: “That’s got a lot to do with some people in this country who are not happy to see a person of colour who is very confident and good at what they do”.
