Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Tomorrow Trust Bursary 2026, applicants must meet the following:
Citizenship & Age
- Must be a South African citizen
- Aged 18–31 years
Academic Requirements
- Currently in Matric (2025) or already completed Matric
- Must be studying or planning to study a full-time STEM degree (undergraduate or postgraduate, excluding Masters)
- Must be pursuing their first qualification
- Must attend or plan to attend a public university in South Africa
First-Generation University Student Criteria
Your parents may not hold a university degree, except in the following cases:
- One parent attended university but did not complete
- Parents completed short courses or diplomas funded by employers
- Household income is R350 000 or less per year
- Parents are SASSA beneficiaries (provide proof)
- Parents are self-employed (affidavit + 3 months bank statements)
Funding & Employment Rules
- Must not be employed full-time
- Must not receive full funding from NSFAS or any other bursary
- Partial funding allowed
- Merit-based awards allowed
- Household income must be below R350 000 per year
