The Department of Employment and Labour invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the Graduate Internship Programme 2026.

About the Internship Programme

The Department of Employment and Labour offers a 24-month internship programme aimed at empowering unemployed South African graduates with practical workplace experience. This opportunity is strictly for graduates who:

  • Are unemployed
  • Are South African citizens
  • Have never participated in any internship before
  • Meet the qualification requirements for each listed post

Priority will be given to youth, persons with disabilities, and applicants from previously disadvantaged groups in line with the Department’s Employment Equity Plan.

  • Applications submitted on the old Z83 will not be considered
  • Shortlisted candidates will later submit certified copies of ID, matric certificate, and academic transcripts
