South African Lekompo artist, Shebeshxt real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke (30), has been granted bail despite facing multiple serious charges, including attempted murder, assault, robbery, and malicious damage.
Chauke was recently arrested on 12th November for allegedly firing shots at a motorist during a road-rage incident in Polokwane.
The trial for all charges is set for the Lebowakgomo Regional Court from 17th to 19th February 2026.
Though prosecutors argued he was a flight risk, the magistrate approved bail with strict conditions, including surrendering his passport and regular police check-ins.
The decision has divided public opinion, given his history of legal issues, which include a 2022 stabbing case and a fatal June car crash involving his daughter.
