Singer Vusi Nova is the latest SA celeb to become a traditional healer.

South African Afro-pop singer Vusi Nova has confirmed that he has accepted his ancestral calling and is now officially igqirha, also known as a traditional healer or a sangoma.
The “A’sphelelanga” hitmaker posted moving pictures of himself on social media in traditional isiXhosa regalia for amagqirha.

In a separate post Vusi said, “Ndibuye namandla amatsha ekhaya…” which translates to “I came home with new energy..”
He also posted a video of himself singing at intlombe surrounded by his family. Intlombe is an IsiXhosa spiritual gathering used by amagqirha to communicate with ancestors. It involves song, dance, and chanting.

Boity Thulo

The TV personality and rapper was one of the first South African entertainers to announce that she had undergone the process of ukuthwasa. “They Called. I Answered. The Proudest, most incredible day of my life. A Beautiful Gift that I will never take for granted,” Boity wrote on Instagram.
Dineo and Solo Langa

The couple revealed they were both traditional healers on their wedding reality TV show Kwakuhle Kwethu. Solo said he knew he was gifted but didn’t understand it when he was younger. Dineo said she found out when she went to consult a sangoma for a different issue.
Letoya Makhene

Letoya accepted her calling in 2002 when she was 18 years old. She graduated in 2003 and has been practicing privately since.
Lerato Mvelase

Actress Lerato Mvelase underwent her training in 2015 and has shared that she resisted her calling at first because she thought it was dark and evil.
Zodwa Wabantu

Reality TV star and dancer Zodwa Wabantu shared her spiritual journey with her fans on her show Zodwa Wabantu: Uncensored. She also clarified that she is not a sangoma who consults but is Inkosazana ya Manzi.
