
Retail giant Walmart is gearing up to open physical stores across South Africa, with the first store set to open at Clearwater Mall in Roodepoort, Johannesburg–[not at Fourways Mall as we previously reported].
The store opening is set for Saturday, 22 November 2025.
To celebrate, a grand opening on Saturday will include food tastings, giveaways, and live entertainment.

The announcement follows Walmart’s promise made in September 2025 to roll out its first South African stores by the end of the year.
Walmart is set to open in the space once held by Game at Fourways Mall. Despite this move, Massmart assured MyBroadband that it won’t phase out any of its current brands, including Makro, Game, or Builders.
