Sekhukhune TVET College, in partnership with the National Skills Fund (NSF), invites unemployed South African youth to apply for the Engineering Apprenticeship Programme 2026.

Apprenticeship Opportunities Available

The NSF, together with Sekhukhune TVET College, is offering apprenticeship opportunities for local unemployed youth in the following trades:

Electrical Apprenticeship

To qualify for the Electrical Apprenticeship, applicants must have:

  • NCV Level 2–4: Electrical Infrastructure Construction (21 subjects completed) OR
  • N2–N6 Electrical Engineering
    • With N2 Electrical Trade Theory or N3 Electro-Technology

Diesel Apprenticeship

To qualify for the Diesel Apprenticeship, applicants must have:

  • NCV Level 2–4: Engineering Related Design (21 subjects completed)
    • With Automotive Repair and Maintenance as a vocational subject OR
  • N2–N6 Mechanical Engineering
    • With N2 Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and N3 Mechanotechnology

Welder Apprenticeship

To qualify for the Welder Apprenticeship, applicants must have:

  • NCV Level 2–4: Engineering Related Design (21 subjects completed)
    • With Fabrication as a vocational subject OR
  • N2–N6 Mechanical Engineering
    • With N2 Plater Theory, N2 Welder Trade Theory and/or N3 Mechanotechnology

Plumber Apprenticeship

To qualify for the Plumber Apprenticeship, applicants must have:

  • NCV Level 2–4: Civil Engineering & Building Construction (21 subjects completed)
    • With Plumbing as a vocational subject OR
  • N2–N6 Civil Engineering
    • With N2 Plumbing Trade Theory

Important Notes and Eligibility

  • Applicants must be under 35 years of age
  • Preference will be given to learners who studied at Sekhukhune TVET College
  • Candidates must reside within Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality
  • All applications will be subjected to assessment processes
  • Successful candidates will enter into relevant ETQA Agreement and Employment Contract
  • Unemployed people with disabilities are encouraged to apply
