The Western Cape will experience strong winds and warm temperatures as weather patterns move toward the coastline.
Forecaster Mpho Rasimphi says the system is already bringing notable changes, particularly around Cape Town.
“We do expect 40km wind speed over that coast, meaning strong winds over the Cape Town coastline for tonight and tomorrow,” he said.
These conditions will challenge marine activity and may lead to disruptions along exposed beachfront areas.
Warm temperatures expected Western Cape
The interior will remain warm despite the windy conditions.
“Temperatures are high, especially overlapping with the Northern Cape interior, and Cape Town is expecting a warm day with highs around the upper 20s,” Rasimphi said.
The province will see a sharp contrast between warm inland areas and windy coastal regions.
Moisture shifts away from the West
Unlike the eastern provinces, the Western Cape will not receive significant rainfall.
“One part of the country is receiving rainfall, but it is clear the system has moved towards Cape Town mainly with wind, not rain,” Rasimphi explained.
Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor items and avoid unnecessary coastal travel during peak wind periods.
