The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) invites South African students enrolled for architecture to apply for the SACAP Student Bursary for the 2026 academic year. The bursary aims to support financially needy students studying at accredited Architectural Learning Sites across the country.

About the SACAP Student Bursary
SACAP is mandated by section 15(5) of the Architectural Profession Act, No. 44 of 2000 to establish and administer an education fund. This fund is used to support education, training and continuing education for registered persons and students within the architectural profession.
Through this bursary, SACAP provides financial assistance to architecture students who show academic potential but lack sufficient financial resources, with a strong focus on transformation and supporting designated groups.
Who Can Apply for the SACAP Student Bursary?
To qualify for the SACAP Student Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must be enrolled to study architecture at an accredited Architectural Learning Site
- Only second year up to Honours architecture students may apply
- Your combined household income must not be more than R350 000 per annum, OR
- If you are a person with a disability, your combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
- Priority will be given to designated groups
Required Documents for the SACAP Bursary Application
Applicants must submit all of the following supporting documents:
- One-page motivational letter explaining why you are applying for student funding
- Certified copy of your valid National Senior Certificate
- Certified copy of latest academic results and full academic record
- Certified copy of South African ID document
- Proof of income (3 months’ payslips) of the student/parent/guardian
- Affidavit if parent/guardian is unemployed
- Three months’ bank statement of the student/parent/guardian
