Absa CSI Trust Graduate Historical Debt Relief Programme 2025 / 2026

Absa is calling on eligible graduates to apply for the 2025 Absa CSI Trust Graduate Historical Debt Relief Intervention — a life-changing opportunity for academically successful students who completed their studies but cannot graduate due to outstanding historical fees.

This initiative targets graduates in key fields that contribute to South Africa’s future economy, including STEM, the Digital Economy, and the Green Economy. If you completed your degree at one of the selected universities but have been unable to access your certificate because of unpaid fees, this programme may be your breakthrough.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is open to graduates from the following universities:

  • University of Limpopo (UL)
  • University of Venda (UNIVEN)
  • Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)
  • Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT)
  • University of Zululand (UNIZULU)

Only students who have already completed their studies and are not currently registered may apply.

About the Absa Graduate Historical Debt Relief Programme

Thousands of South African graduates cannot receive their certificates because of unpaid historical student debt. This programme aims to address that barrier by:

  • Clearing historical debt owed to the university
  • Helping graduates receive their certificates and officially complete their qualifications
  • Connecting beneficiaries to employment opportunities, through a partnership with the Youth Employment Service (YES)
  • Enabling graduates to participate in the economy and advance their careers

The programme is facilitated by the Feenix Trust, which manages the debt-clearance process on behalf of the Absa CSI Trust.
