Bafana Bafana supporters have once again questioned why team manager Vincent Tseka remains in his position following another administrative blunder.
Tseka came under fire earlier this year when Bafana were docked three points for fielding an ineligible player during their FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho.
Midfielder Teboho Mokoena, who was supposed to serve a suspension in that match, was mistakenly included in the starting lineup as South Africa went on to win.
In September, FIFA confirmed the three-point deduction, dealing a major blow to Hugo Broosâ side. Fortunately, the team still managed to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Rwanda in their final qualifying fixture. However, supporters have not forgotten the earlier incident, blaming Tseka, who is responsible for tracking player bookings for the costly error.
Many fans have since called for him to be dismissed.
Vincent Tseka comes under fire from Bafana fans
The frustration deepened last week when Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie revealed that Tseka had allegedly left the team venue to fetch ice during a crucial moment of preparation.
This week brought yet another embarrassment. As Bafana prepared for their friendly match against Zambia at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, the team discovered that their usual hotel booking had been cancelled.
âWe received a message on Saturday morning from the hotel where we usually stay. They informed us that our booking was cancelled,â said head coach Hugo Broos during a media briefing.
âIt was quite surprising, especially just two days before camp. We tried to find accommodation near Dobsonville, but every hotel was fully booked. Luckily, we managed to secure a place here in Gqeberha.â
Bafana fans took to social media to express their anger, saying this was the second major lapse under Tsekaâs watch and that he had once again embarrassed the national team.
Calls for his removal have since intensified online.
