- The Ndimande brothers have been handed over to SAPS and Interpol at King Mswati International Airport for their alleged involvement in the murder of rapper AKA and his friend Tibz.
- They are expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates’ Court alongside five other suspects.
- The pair also face additional charges related to two other murder cases and an attempted murder.
The Ndimande brothers, who are accused of the brutal murder of South African Hip Hop singer Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, were handed over to the South African Police on Tuesday.
Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Interpol received the brothers at King Mswati International Airport.
AKA and Tebello were fatally shot outside a Durban restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal in 2023, in what has been described as a hit.
National Police Spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the two accused will be arrested when they land in South Africa, after a warrant of arrest has been issued.
The duo is also set to appear before the Durban Magistrates’ Court along with five other suspects.
“They will then escort the two brothers to SA, and only upon their arrival will our Interpol officers hand them over to the lead investigator in this case, who will then execute the J50 warrant of arrest and place them under arrest officially in SA,” said Mathe.
Mathe says one of the suspects being extradited to South Africa is believed to have pulled the trigger, killing AKA.
The brothers are currently linked to three separate attacks. Apart from the murder of AKA and Motsoane, they will also be charged with the murder of a taxi boss, as well as the murder of a taxi boss’ driver and the attempted murder of his wife.
