Italy in Town street festival coming soon to Cape Town

Italian aficionados are in for a treat when the 2025 Italy in Town street festival rolls into Cape Town later this month.

The two-day event – organised by the Italian–South African Chamber of Trade and Industries, in collaboration with the Consulate of Italy in Cape Town and the Committee for Italians Abroad – will take place on the streets of the Cape Quarter in De Waterkant.

Here, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in bona fide Italian culture, from wine-tasting and operatic performances to pasta-making workshops.

ITALY IN TOWN: DATE, TIME AND PARKING

The street festival will take place over two days: Saturday, 22 November 2025, and Sunday, 23 November 2025.

ITALY IN TOWN OFFERS FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

No festival is complete without entertainment. As such, there will be plenty of live music, Italian jazz and opera performances.

There will also be an opportunity for you and your little ones to participate in pasta-making workshops and make pasta from scratch. It costs R300 per person (adults will receive a complimentary Aperol Spritz).

Additionally, you can partake in some wine-tasting sessions, where you can sample up to 18 wines. It costs R140 per person.

For the little ones, there will be a designated kids’ zone on site. Here, they can play games, interact with clowns and stilt-walkers, try their hand at balloon-sculpting and embark on some Italian lessons.
