The Market Theatre Foundation invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the Internship Programme 2026 (in partnership with YES4Youth) for 12 months.

Stipend: R5,000 per month (12-month fixed contract)
Programme Overview
Unemployed youth will gain hands-on work experience across multiple departments. No prior experience is required. Successful applicants will be placed on a 12-month fixed-term internship and supported to build real workplace skills.
Selection Criteria
- South African unemployed youth 18–34
- Not studying full-time in 2026
- Never participated/registered on the YES programme before
- Matric plus National Diploma or Degree from a recognised South African institution

Overview: Assist with safety and quality management administration across the organisation.
Requirements: ND/Degree in OHS / Safety Management / Environmental Health / SAMTRAC / Occupational Hygiene
Skills: MS Office proficiency
Human Resources Intern — Ref: 2025/10/HR
Overview: Support HR team in delivering people services and initiatives.
Requirements: ND/Degree in HR Management / Industrial Psychology or related
Skills: MS Office, basic SA labour law, confidentiality, strong organisation & attention to detail
Information Technology Intern — Ref: 2025/10/IT
Overview: IT admin, helpdesk, onsite/remote support, smooth IT operations.

Overview: Administrative & library/information support (Brands & Communications).

Overview: Support daily operations, admin and programme tasks; arts admin & event coordination exposure.

Overview: Join technical production team (sound). Setups, patching, mixing for events and productions.

Overview: Assist to hang/focus/program/repair/operate lights for shows, events & conferences.
