SPRINGBOKS STAY ON TOP OF THE WORLD
The Springboks momentum steam train continues to roll as South Africa started their tour in fine fashion, ticking all the right boxes in Wembley on Saturday evening.
Rassie Eramsmus’ charges dominated Eddie Jones’ Japanese outfit physically, while the Springboks were dominant at scrum time (as we have grown accustomed to).
Furthermore, they were silky and smooth on attack. An attack orchestrated by another masterful display from Sacha-Feinberg MngomeZulu at 10. Ultimately, the Springboks outplayed the Cherry Blossoms in all areas of the field.
However, due to big gap between the sides in the world rankings, the Boks could not add any points to their points tally.
Next up, is France on Saturday, 8 November. This will be a rematch of their iconic 2023 Rugby World Cup classic that the Boks won 29-28 in Paris to break French hearts on home soil. The French have had more than two years planning their vengeance.
Meanwhile, England have climbed up one spot to leapfrog France in fourth position after defeating Australia 25-7 in Twickenham earlier in the day. The English added 0.40 points to bring their points up to 88.04. Whilst, the Wallabies loss has seen Joe Schmidts men drop to 89.90 in seventh spot.
