GAYTON MCKENZIE BAGS BLACK TWITTER AWARDS NOMINATION
On Friday, X troll Chris Excel – the self-proclaimed “King of Black Twitter” – announced the nominations for the Black Twitter Awards.
In it were a group of prominent South Africans who have made headlines this year for both good and bad reasons.
Bagging a nomination for “Mampara of the Year” was Minister of Sport, Art and Culture Gayton McKenzie.
The Patriotic Alliance president competes with fellow party leader Ashley Sauls, suspended National Deputy Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya, podcaster Penuel Mlotshwa, and ousted MK Party secretary Floyd Shivambu.
The nominations included those for the Man of the Year Award – Moja Love’s Xolani Khumalo, KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, and political commentator Tumi Sole.
Nominees for the Woman of the Year Award are Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya, controversial media personality Ntsiki Mazwai, and former UCT Vice-Chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng.
Other categories included Adult content influencer, Drunkard of the year, Best political voice, and Best dressed influencer.

HOW TO VOTE
The Black Twitter Awards – a virtual awards ceremony will announce the winners on 7 November.
“President” Chris Excel – who raised funds to donate two cows to Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi – will announce the voting system in the coming days.
