A man has been charged in court over the murder of a “bright” Nottingham student with an “infectious smile”.
23-year-old aspiring psychologist Stephanie Irons was found dead in her home in Mapperley on Tuesday night (21st October).
Yesterday (27th October), Adedapo Adegbola appeared at Nottingham Crown Court charged with her murder, The Sun reports.
Adegbola, 40, is said to have known Stephanie. During the hearing, he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, and address.
The 40-year-old has now been remanded in custody while the courts prepare for a further hearing on 17th November.

A 40-year-old woman who was also arrested on suspicion of assisting Adegbola has been released on bail.
Stephanie had been studying clinical psychology at Nottingham Trent University at the time of her death.
Described as a “bright young star”, Stephanie’s family has paid tribute, saying: “Steph had an infectious smile and laugh which lit up any room she walked into.
“She was a beautiful, loving and caring daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend. She had a compassion for others and would always see good in everybody.
“She had a huge heart and wore it on her sleeve.”

The 23-year-old was “well on the way” to fulfilling her dream of becoming a psychologist, since she had already completed both a degree and a Master’s in clinical psychology.
Stephanie was about to apply for her doctorate in the field, and the family are grieving the “bright young star” whose “future [was] taken away”.
Although they’re struggling to comprehend the reality of the student’s death, her family say Stephanie will “forever” be with them.
The senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Stuart Barson, has said family and friends are receiving support from trained officers.
