I don’t know about you, but I am utterly obsessed with the Louvre heist at the moment, and as it turns out Strictly Come Dancing and Drag Race star La Voix was accidently involved in the UK’s biggest gem heist.
The heist took place in 2009 with over $40 million worth of gems being stolen from Graff’s diamond store, with the robbers ordering the staff to empty the display cases whilst holding them at gunpoint.

La Voix, whose real name is Chris Dennis, was working as a theatrical makeup artist at the time and explained in that she was booked by two men who needed to make themselves look much older.
La Voix spent four hours fitting the two men with liquid latex masks and wigs alongside altering their skin tone, with the Strictly and Drag Race star being told by the men that it was all for a music video.
She recalled: “I was booked to do two men who wanted to be made to look older, and I was told it was for a music video. We started doing things you could do with latex and all the ageing make-up.”

She continued to reveal more details about the moment, describing the men as ordinary if a “little bit standoffish”, with the two paying £450 for her services before heading to the diamond store to undergo the heist.
La Voix had no idea about the heist until she read the newspapers the next morning, recalling on the podcast: “I thought, ‘that’s those two men that I did the make-up on yesterday!”‘
Scotland Yard detectives interviewed her and took her make-up brushes, gowns, banknotes and rubber masks in order to test for DNA, which ultimately helped to lead to the arrest of the two men.
